About Veronica

Veronica Smith, owner of Smith Business Consulting, has a Masters in Business Administration from a joint program offered by Portland State University and Oregon Health Science University (2015), and a wide variety of experience in accounting, senior leadership, and compliance. Her professional background is available on her LinkedIn page.

She and her husband moved to Bellingham in 1998 because they wanted to raise their family in the Pacific Northwest. They are avid hikers and bikers and are on an empty nest quest to see the Dodgers play in all 30 major league stadiums (Pittsburgh in April 2023 took our count to 12). Veronica loves to cook, crochet, and has recently returned to home canning as a hobby.

Why Use Smith business consulting

Smith Business Consulting (SBC) is here to help small businesses and non-profits thrive in our community. SBC can help create systems and procedures designed for small business owners and non-profits, so that you and your team can make decisions based on accurate, understandable financial information, protecting your investments of time, money, and talent with good internal controls and sound business practices.

I’ve always dreamed about having a business that creates order out of chaos in the accounting arena.  I enjoy figuring out the puzzles, creating structure, I even enjoy writing policies and procedures, I think that is from working in health care for so many years, or from my compliance experience.  So many times, accounting is an afterthought because the focus is on the mission of the organization.  I think that fresh eyes and a fresh look at older processes bring improvements and efficiencies – I’d like to help you and your organization find those opportunities.
